Arts in Character

Founded Hockaday Arts & Crafts Club

With an extensive visual arts background, I hoped to bring my passion for art into my school community. As a result, I began meeting with the school staff and talking with my classmates about starting a club. At the start of Freshman year, my friend and I successfully founded the Hockaday Arts & Crafts Club with over ten members. The purpose of our club is to provide a place for students who have an interest or passion in the arts to communicate and learn from each other. Furthermore, the club leaders also teach the members drawing techniques and craft-making.

As the president of Arts & Crafts Club, I expanded the club to support various school events with art projects. I myself served as a Graphic Designer for the school newspaper Fourcast to design image corresponding to the articles as well as JADE magazine covers. I have also designed the logo for Hockaday’s dance program, Hockadance, and my school robotics team. Below, I have included images of my designs for Hockaday’s various programs.

The sample, below, shows digital cover pages that I designed for one issue of the school magazine JADE.

Poster to promote the Nutcracker ballet performed by Hockaday’s Dance Program (Hockadance). I played the role of Snow Queen in the production.

Graphic for article on the MET Gala in the Fourcast newspaper.

As a Graphic Designer of Fourcast, I designed art to correspond to the articles written in the newspaper.

For Hockadance, I designed a logo for the program of the “Arts in Motion” dance performance.

When Hockaday’s robotics team was invited to attend North American Open Championships, I designed the logo that would be used for team stickers, cards, and jackets.
